Harford Community College’s Early Learning Center (ELC) is proud to announce its full accreditation by the Maryland Accreditation Decision Committee. The accreditation is valid until April 2027.

The ELC has achieved this important milestone through its unwavering commitment to fostering an environment where children are loved first and taught second. This philosophy underscores the Early Learning Center’s approach to early childhood education, emphasizing inclusivity and individualized support to ensure every child, regardless of ability, develops socially, emotionally, and intellectually while gaining a positive self-image.

The ELC always prioritizes the holistic development of every child, and this accreditation by the State of Maryland reflects that priority. Tony Wohlers, Dean of the Behavioral and Social Sciences division at Harford Community College, agrees that this major accomplishment “. . . validates our dedication to providing a nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop lifelong skills.” Moreover, the accreditation reflects Harford Community College’s and the Early Learning Center’s consistent commitment to excellence in teaching, serving our community, and continuous improvement, while creating a safe, stimulating environment that encourages our littlest Owls to explore, discover, and grow into compassionate members of our community.
