Matthew Stachowiak has been promoted to Director of Claims, Complex & Litigation at Harford Mutual Insurance Group.

Harford Mutual Insurance Group has promoted Matthew Stachowiak, AIC, to Director of Claims, Complex & Litigation.

Stachowiak joined Harford Mutual in 1997 as a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner. He’s also held the positions of General Liability Claims Examiner, Litigation Specialist, Litigation Supervisor, and most recently Litigation Manager, during his tenure at Harford Mutual. In 2020, Stachowiak spearheaded the establishment of the litigation and complex claims unit.

Wayne Gearhart, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer ­of Harford Mutual Insurance Group. “As the inaugural dedicated litigation representative in company history, he has earned the trust of legal counsel and policyholders alike.”

Before joining Harford Mutual, Stachowiak held the role of Workers’ Compensation Risk Manager for Integrated Health Services and as a Multiline Adjuster for Travelers Insurance.

Stachowiak earned his bachelor’s degree from Towson University and his Associate in Claims designation from The Institutes Knowledge Group.
