About the Artist:
From the vibrant heart of Southern Maryland emerges a musical prodigy, Justin Taylor, whose passion for melodies and chords began long before most children learn to speak. While he may not have been born with a guitar in hand, his early affinity for the instrument was undeniable.
As a young boy, Justin’s favorite toy was none other than a guitar, a sign of the musical journey that awaited him. By his middle school years, he was already a familiar name in the Southern Maryland music scene, captivating audiences at school assemblies and even forming bands with faculty members.
High school saw Justin’s talents flourish further. He graced local clubs with his performances and even dazzled audiences with a rendition of Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” for the Charles County all-county orchestra. At the tender age of thirteen, Justin’s professional journey began, playing as the featured guitarist for the Ken Smith band, sharing the stage with his own grandfather.
His musical voyage took him to Nashville, where he toured extensively with the Sam Grow Band, opening for renowned national acts and absorbing the essence of life on the road. But the call for a solo journey was strong, leading to the birth of the Justin Taylor Band. Today, he’s not just a remarkable guitarist but also an emerging singer-songwriter, having released his debut EP in 2020.
As we celebrate Justin Taylor as our Artist of the Week, we invite you to dive into the world of this exceptional musician. His story is a testament to passion, dedication, and the magic that happens when one follows their heart’s true calling.
