The Havre de Grace Housing Authority (HDGHA) announces that Hannah Jenkins has been hired as the Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Services Coordinator at the agency. The ROSS Coordinator facilitates involvement in HDGHA’s Self-Sufficiency program, a no-cost service provided for tenants at HDGHA to help families achieve and maintain economic independence.
In her new position Jenkins will recruit participants to the ROSS program, then help create and monitor progress on action plans customized to each family; plans that coordinate services and connect them to the resources, events, and activities needed to increase income and become more economically self-sufficient. This includes helping improve living conditions for HDGHA’s elderly and disabled residents so they can age in place. She will also lead outreach efforts to expand community partnerships, boost volunteer involvement, and improve fundraising outcomes.
Jenkins holds a Bachelor of Sciencedegree in Psychology from Towson University and has worked as a mental health counselor for five years and a case manager for one year. She has experience working with both youth and adults and served most recently as a case manager for the Youth Enrichment Society (YES).
Of her new role with HDGHA, Wise says, “I am very excited to join the HDGHA team as the ROSS Services Coordinator and eager to use my skills to help families in Harford County overcome their personal challenges and barriers to financial independence by linking them to the precise services necessary to achieve their goals.”
Nicki Biggs is the HDGHA Acting Executive Director. She says, “Hannah’s professional experience and dedication to our mission will enable HDGHA to help even more families and individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency. She is a very beneficial addition to our staff and we look forward to seeing the positive impact she will have at Somerset Manor and throughout the larger community.”
