Congratulations To Our Artist Of The Week
About the Artist:
Pamela Wilde, originally from Chicago and now a resident of Maryland for over two decades, is a seasoned artist with a remarkable journey in the world of art. Her creative path began with formal training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where she earned a degree in Advertising Design and Illustration. Early in her career, she contributed her artistic talents to the Tacoma News Tribune in Washington, specializing in advertising design and editorial illustration.
Throughout her artistic evolution, Pamela’s focus shifted towards becoming a proficient portrait artist. She embarked on a journey of continuous learning, embracing adult education, mentorship, and independent study to hone her craft. Working primarily with oils and drawing inspiration from direct observation, her artistic subjects span a wide spectrum. Yet, her genuine passion resides in the intricacies and challenges of portraits, figures, and plein-air landscapes.
Pamela recently concluded a notable community portrait project, a testament to her dedication and talent. Her collection of 120 live Alla-Prima session paintings, depicting the people of Havre de Grace, was showcased in a solo exhibition at Artists Emporium and later at the World Trade Center Baltimore.
As a versatile artist, Pamela Wilde is available for commissioned works and takes immense pleasure in collaborating with clients to create truly unique and exceptional pieces of art. Her journey in art has been one of growth, dedication, and the pursuit of capturing the essence of her subjects through her skilled brushwork.
