About the Artist:
Debbie Jennings aka: D.A. Jennings, a multi-talented author, poet, storyteller, and creative writing teacher, is the acclaimed Artist of the Week. With a diverse educational background encompassing Broadcasting, Public Human Resources Administration, and Army Management, Jennings brings a unique and insightful perspective to her craft. With over three decades of experience working for the Department of Army, she possesses a special affinity for the American Soldier.
Her recent middle-grade novel, “Mia, The Crooked Road,” a sequel to the award-winning “Mia, Ripples in the Water,” has garnered critical acclaim from reputable sources like Kirkus Reviews, San Francisco Review, and the 2022 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. Jennings’ other notable works include “The Tapping Stick” (a 2021 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards silver medal winner), “Cheese? Yes, Please!” (honored with the Story Monsters Inc. Royal Dragonfly Book Award), “Seize the Cheese,” “One Hundred Lives,” and “American Sports Legends.”
Jennings’ writing has been described as engrossing, engaging, and inspiring, making her a highly sought-after author and speaker. Her passion for storytelling is evident across a wide array of genres, from captivating children’s books to compelling poetry, memoirs, and inspiring sports biographies.
An active member of the Harford Writers’ Group, Jennings also shares her expertise as a creative writing instructor at Harford Community College. Jennings continues to make a profound impact in the literary world, captivating readers and leaving an indelible mark in their hearts and minds.
