
Kiddie Academy of Abingdon is scheduled to open in early fall, and will serve 149 children between 6 weeks and 12 years old. The groundbreaking ceremony marks an important step in supporting families within the Abingdon and Bel Air community.

Kiddie Academy of Abingdon will have a positive impact on the local economy, creating approximately of 30 jobs within the community. The building itself will be LEED certified, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, which will recognize it as utilizing best‐in‐class green building practices. Because of this certification, Kiddie Academy of Abingdon will save on resources and have a positive impact on the health of families and staff all while promoting renewable, clean energy.
The new state‐of‐the‐art academy in Abingdon will serve as a benchmark and model for all Kiddie Academy locations across the country. Kiddie Academy, founded in 1981, began with the idea to combine learning with child care, and a commitment to be a leader in the industry. With over 130 locations nationwide, Kiddie Academy developed a comprehensive education‐based child care program for its academies, which are structured to respond to the increasing demand for child care.
The Kiddie Academy headquarters is located around the corner from Kiddie Academy of Abingdon and has been a staple in Harford County for 20 years. The corporate office has over 55 employees.
