Local businesses and community nonprofits with successful recycling and waste reduction programs are invited to apply for a 2018 Harford County Business Recycling and Waste Reduction Award. The deadline for applications is February 1, 2019.
Each year, the Harford County Office of Recycling recognizes organizations that have implemented or expanded innovative waste reduction and recycling programs. Programs that use resources wisely can also lead to greater efficiency and benefits for customers, staff, and the bottom line.
Last year, The Bayou Restaurant won a 2017 award for increased recycling of oyster shells, which are reused to help clean the Chesapeake Bay. Fawn View Farm and Fawn View Manor Farm were also recognized for their leadership in agricultural recycling.
