Honoring Those Who Serve

Trinity Lutheran Christian School, a private Christian early learning center through middle school, is excited to announce its 3rd annual Run for the Son and Fallen Heroes Event in celebration and remembrance of first responders and those who have served.

“Our Run for the Son Fallen Heroes Day helps us to link our students to those who courageously serve our communities and our nation with unwavering dedication and sacrifice, while helping our school. As followers of Christ, it is our duty to support and express our gratitude for their tireless efforts.  This event has become a high point of our school year, and our kids love it!”, says Rick Jester, Principal of Trinity Lutheran Christian School.

This year, all TLCS students, from ages 2 through 8th grade, will participate in the Run for the Son and Fallen Heroes Day Event. This event was inspired by the untimely passing of TLCS parent and Baltimore City Firefighter, Lieutenant Kelsey Sadler, in 2022. Kelsey was a great inspiration to the community, and this event will continue to honor her legacy. With the Governor’s proclamation of Fallen Heroes Day in 2023, this event will honor all of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty and service to the community.

Funds raised through the event will support tuition discounts for children of Active Military and First Responders, need-based financial aid, and Trinity Lutheran Christian School & ELC program and facility enhancements. The event will include a fun run, celebration of service and dedication of those who serve (and served), along with educational components for students and families to learn more about the symbolism of fallen heroes.

First responders from across Harford County and the greater Baltimore region will attend in uniform and provide hands-on learning opportunities for students and parents. In 2023, students were able to run the onsite course, meet first responders, learn about fire safety, and tour first responder vehicles.

Run for the Son and Fallen Heroes Event participants will invite friends and family to sponsor their participation by donating online. Businesses and organizations can get involved by becoming an event sponsor through a financial donation or by providing donated goods. Individuals may also make donations to the school’s Run for the Son and Fallen Heroes Event via the school’s website, https://tlsonline.org/run-for-the-son.
