ARROW CHILD & FAMILY MINISTRIES EXPANDS CROSSROADS COMMUNITY

0

Arrow Child & Family Ministries has recently expanded their Crossroads Community in Bel Air. Arrow’s Crossroads Community serves teen girls in the foster care system who are approaching adulthood. These young women are supported by staff as they learn how to live independently through educational support, supported employment, comprehensive clinical services, and programs like the Healthy Eating Initiative and a partnership with Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding. With the recent expansion, Crossroads is now able to serve up to 23 young women.

Young women at Crossroads initially begin in dorm-style living, and they can graduate to more independent living in cottage-style apartments. Each young woman receives a life skills assessment and individualized training, therapeutic support, and treatment planning. The youth at Crossroads are active in the community, building vocational and interpersonal skills. Arrow is committed to helping young women who have experienced trauma gain the skills and confidence they need to successfully enter adulthood.
