In this episode, Rich has a conversation with Sara Webb.

Sara Webb is an author, motivational speaker, and certified yoga teacher. She considers herself a spiritual activist, choosing this nomenclature as opposed to the traditional terminology of Coach. She advocates for clients and audiences to find their own power within by getting aligned with themselves spiritually, through introspection that begins with meditation.

She inspires people to access the power within themselves by teaching pocket-sized techniques to process stress, improve daily happiness, and bring the best versions of themselves to their own lives.

Sara lives in Florida with her powerhouse wife, three brilliant children, and too many four-legged fur babies to mention.

In this episode, Rich and cohost Dani Pettrey have a conversation with Diane Wylie.

Diane Wylie, winner of the Chanticleer Chatelaine Award, among others, is a Harford County romance author who loves books. She especially loves any book that will take her on an emotional roller coaster ride. Diane has published multiple historical and fantasy/time travel romances. Her latest release, Sister, Soldier, Spy, is the historical sequel to the popular Sisters in the Civil War.

One reviewer wrote this about Sister, Soldier, Spy:

“… great conflict, great characters. Loved the ride-or-die family mentality, the love between Ryan and Chrissy, and the action of the book.” Brooke Crites, Reviewer/Editor

In this episode, Rich and cohost Dani Pettrey have a conversation with Denise Stout.

Denise Stout is a hopeless romantic who dreamed of writing when she didn’t have her nose buried in a book. She grew up in Northern Delaware, is a graduate of the University of Delaware, and holds a paralegal certificate. She worked in the banking industry before focusing on her writing and her family.

Denise was first published with “Christmas Miracle on Oyster Bay” in the award-winning anthology Then Comes Winter. She primarily writes in the contemporary romance genre, plus she has written women’s fiction, historical fiction, as well as two full-length novels, and she has a stack of rejection letters to prove it.

Denise has appeared in two national commercials, she was featured with lifestyle expert Katie Brown in Family Circle magazine, and she was quoted in VOX about books-to-film holiday movies. Denise was recently chosen by Brooke Shields as one of forty women in the 40 OVER 40 campaign for her Beginning is Now brand. Denise is a regular contributor to The WiC Project lifestyle blog creating content for a variety of products, food, subscription boxes, and movie reviews.

Denise works as an author assistant for several writers, volunteers, and reads when not writing. Denise lives in suburban Maryland with her family.

In this episode, Rich has a conversation with Linda Williams and Shawn Partain.

Linda is the Executive Director of Addiction Connections Resource and was appointed to Governor Hogan’s Emergency Opioid and Heroin Task Force in 2015. In the five years prior to the establishment of ACR, Linda was engaged in the treatment of individuals who abused substances. Her residence ended up serving as a kind of unofficial halfway house. Linda was connecting folks to resources, such as transporting them to the Harford County Health Department, doctor and therapist appointments, and detox with Dr. Hayes. She was also speaking for them in court and providing a large number of the other services that ACR currently offers. This was the idea of ACR when it was first conceived. Linda lost her daughter in 2007.

Shawn is in recovery herself and is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist,  Registered Peer Supervisor, and Outreach Coordinator at ACR. Shawn was on a previous episode when she worked at the Harford County Health Department as a Peer Recovery Specialist which you can listen to at Pain Makes Them Stronger (buzzsprout.com). Shawn has 2 wonderful boys and is also a professional photographer.

In this episode, Rich has a conversation with Dr. Hina Joshi. Hina Joshi is a certified health and wellness coach from the Institute of Functional medicine.

Her path to becoming a health and wellness coach began many years ago when she began working with people suffering from chronic pain. Dr. Joshi observed that many individuals with chronic pain were identified and treated for their symptoms. No one comprehended the other aspects of their life influencing their pain levels. This was when she began investigating the fundamental cause of chronic pain, leading her to functional medicine. Her son's diagnosis of ADHD was another factor that drew her to functional medicine. Dr. Joshi has always understood that food is a sort of medicine, but she did not know how to use it to treat her son. She was confident that she needed to investigate. She realized that pursuing a profession in functional medicine would help her uncover the answers and enable her to assist both her son and her patients.

Harford County Living presents Conversations with Rich Bennett, coming to you from the Freedom Federal Credit Union studios.

On this episode, Rich is joined by Olivia Smith and Erica Waskey of Springboard Community Services.

Springboard Community Services has devoted itself, throughout the course of its more than 170 year history, to improving the lives of the most vulnerable residents of Maryland. Springboard Community Services, which was formerly known as Family and Children's Services, has continuously developed to meet the challenges posed by our ever-evolving world, beginning with their earliest efforts to identify and address the needs of the working poor, foster children, and single-parent families. These efforts are still ongoing. Simply expressed, they are motivated to assist people and families in recovering from the traumas of life and prevailing over adversity so that they may be placed on a course leading to satisfaction and achievement.

The term "Adverse Childhood Experiences," or ACEs for short, refers to traumatic events that occur throughout childhood and have a negative impact on both our mental and physical health. Even if they manifest themselves in infancy, they are capable of affecting people of any age.

Harford County Living presents Conversations with Rich Bennett, coming to you from the Freedom Federal Credit Union studios.

On this episode, Rich and cohost Alicia Hamilton are joined by Brenna Kupferman and Arden McClune from the Liriodendron Mansion.

The Liriodendron is Dr. Howard Kelly and his wife Laetitia's historic home and estate. Dr. Kelly was a renowned surgeon and one of the Johns Hopkins Medical College's four founding physicians.

Dr. Kelly built the mansion as a summer home for his wife, Letitia, and their nine children, and it remained in the Kelly family until the early 1970s. Dr. Kelly transferred ownership to his son, Fritz, in 1935, and he lived there until his death in 1980. The estate was later sold to Harford County, which still owns the land.

The Liriodendron Foundation, a non-profit organization, was formed to preserve and maintain the mansion and its grounds. The Liriodendron is now a wedding, conference, events, and arts facility, with a second-floor art gallery showcasing mostly local artists.

Rage Against Addiction has partnered with Rich Bennett of Harford County Living to create podcasts to bring awareness to communities about the devastating effects of addiction and to also spread hope about the possibility of recovery.

Rage Against Addiction is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting addicts and their families with the resources they need to find a path to recovery that will enable them to lead happy healthy lives. Its mission is to “provide awareness and support to anyone affected by drug and alcohol abuse, including the family. We understand that the disease of addiction is a family disease and that no family is immune.”

In this special episode of Rage Talk, Wendy Messner, Rich Bennett and George Evans speak about the Memory Walk / Recovery Run 2022 and The Emily Evans Concert for Hope.

On this episode of Harford County Living with Rich Bennett, coming to you from the Freedom Federal Credit Union studios, Rich speaks with Wendy Messner. Wendy is the Founder and Executive Director of Rage Against Addiction.

Wendy reads the book she wrote about her daughter, "Christmas Angel". After the loss of her sister, Maeve struggles with grief during the holidays. Losing a loved one is never easy but when Mom tells Maeve and her little brother Justin the story of the Christmas Angel, it reassures them that the pain they feel is an extension of their love for their sister. If they look closely, they will see signs throughout the year as gentle reminders that she is always with them. This is a story of love, loss, and hope.
