County Executive Bob Cassilly issued the following statement after signing legislation limiting warehouse development in Harford County to 250K square feet.

“I was elected by Harford County residents who made it clear they want responsible development to enhance our quality of life, protect our environment, and protect property rights. When I proposed legislation limiting warehouses to 250,000 square feet, I knew that final passage would require cooperation and compromise among lawmakers, community members, property owners, and other stakeholders. I would like to thank those council members and other interested parties who worked with me and my staff over the last six months to bring this bill to passage last Tuesday by a vote of 5-2.  I believe it more fairly balances the property rights of landowners seeking to develop their land with the rights of the surrounding communities.”
