Small and minority-owned companies can learn how to do business with Harford County government at an upcoming event hosted by the county’s procurement department.

The Harford County Small & Minority Business Expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Churchville Recreation Center, Level Building, 3023 Level Road in Churchville.

Attendees will get an overview of the county government’s purchasing practices and join break-out sessions on topics including vendor certification requirements and how to be notified of bidding opportunities. Harford County department directors will be on hand to discuss their purchasing needs and the Office of Economic Development will be available to assist startup businesses.

“My administration is committed to ensuring small and minority-owned companies get a fair shot at doing business with their local government,” County Executive Bob Cassilly said. “Our purchasing needs range from major construction projects to printing to catering, and I encourage local companies to come see how we can do business together.”
