The Highlands School today announced that Pamela Tarbert has been named director of The Learning Center at The Highlands School. The new Learning Center will incorporate The Highlands School’s current tutoring program and provide fresh offerings to bolster more students and families.

In her role, Tarbert will be responsible for overseeing the Learning Center. Tarbert is a lifelong educator who is positioned to share the school’s mission and capabilities with the broader community.

“We could not ask for a better leader to guide our new Learning Center,” said Highlands School Provost Dr. Jennifer Palinkas. “Pam has been with The Highlands School for over two decades and is experienced in tutoring students and helping them reach new levels of success.”

Tarbert has been a math and language arts instructor for The Highlands School and was elected Instructor of the Year in 2005. In addition to her classroom instruction, Tarbert is an experienced tutor.

“I’m thrilled to begin my new role as director of the Learning Center at The Highlands School,” said Tarbert. “There is nothing more satisfying than helping students succeed by using The Highlands School teaching philosophy. I am excited to help even more students and families across the region.”

Tarbert is a graduate of Towson University and has three adult children. When she is not dedicating her time to her students, you can find her at home curled up with a good book or tending to her farm animals.
