Harford County Executive Barry Glassman signs Executive Order 20-02

Harford County Executive Barry Glassman today signed an Executive Order temporarily waiving certain parking lot requirements to provide businesses with additional space in their lots for outdoor sales.  The action under Harford County’s State of Emergency takes effect Friday at 5 p.m. to coincide with Gov. Hogan’s first phase of reopening Maryland. Sufficient parking must still be provided for visitors to commercial establishments and must comply with all fire, life safety, American Disability Act and social distancing requirements.

“Outdoor sales spaces are likely to be safer and less likely to spread COVID-19 than indoor sales,” County Executive Glassman said. “As we begin to reopen in Harford County, this action will expand economic opportunities for our local businesses and their customers.”
