Healthy Harford Day announces the event schedule for the day, which features free classes in Zumba, kick-boxing, stand-up paddleboard yoga and more.
[Bel Air, Maryland] September 10, 2014 – Healthy Harford, a coalition of local government agencies, businesses, non-profits and citizens dedicated to improving the health of Harford County residents, will once again host Healthy Harford Day on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 119 South Hays Street, next to the Bel Air Farmers’ Market. The annual event is designed to raise awareness about Healthy Harford and its mission to help make Harford County the healthiest community in Maryland.
Due to the increasing popularity of the event, this year’s Healthy Harford Day has extended it hours from 9:00 a.m. until 1 p.m, and will be in a new, larger location (just down the road from the Bel Air Farmers’ Market. Also this year, Harford County families will have the opportunity to meet staff from the Harford County Public Schools Nutrition Department, who will be on hand to talk about school lunches and other meals available to students and their families. Other additions are an array of on-hand professionals including Pediatric Partners Pediatricians, Gold Metal Physical Therapy, Advance Eye Care, Diabetes Pharmacist from Klein’s Shoprite, UM Upper Chesapeake Health Children’s Center, Harford County Health Department Behavioral Health, WIC, the Kaufman Cancer Center and more who will be on hand to answer your questions.
Healthy Harford encourages residents to come dress to move and try a selection of great exercise classes at one of our two performance venues.

9:30 Kick Boxing with Candi Carr-Smith, Y of Central Maryland
10:00 Zumba with Juan Alzamora, Bel Air Zumba
11:00 Plant-based Cooking Demonstration with Jim Gerity
11:30 CPR Party, UM Upper Chesapeake Health and Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps
12:00 Irish Dancing with Ryan’s School of Irish Dancing
And the schedule for the second demonstration area, where attendees can try classes in a smaller, more intimate setting, is:

10:00 Streetwise Self Defense
11:00 Beachbee Yoga and Stand Up Paddleboard
11:30 Fitness Craze-Boxing Condition

In addition to perusing the informational booths and resources, attendees can take advantage of free bike helmets and professional fittings from the Gregg Krause Foundation and Bike Shop of Bel Air, free massages, free health screenings, and children’s activities including a moon bounce, face painting, Kids ID’s, and information on how to grow and make your own baby food.
