Jon Boyer has always had a soft spot for animals in need, and now animal lovers across the country have a soft spot for him.
As a police officer with the Baltimore Police Department for the past three and a half years, Boyer often rescues stray cats and dogs and brings them to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), the city’s largest open admission shelter. The 26-year-old cop considers the rescues as just a part of the job, but when he agreed to pose for a photo with a kitten he brought into BARCS last May, his private good deeds became an online sensation when the shelter posted the picture on its Facebook page.
