Library Drive-Thru, Pickup Planned to Start June 8
County Executive Barry Glassman issued the following weekly update on COVID-19 in Harford County:
“This morning the Maryland Department of Health is reporting a total of 746 cases, 43 deaths, and 3 probable deaths among Harford County residents. We continue to monitor these reports, which include the two nursing homes with outbreaks.
Library Services
Although Harford County Public Library buildings remain closed to the public, drive-thru and front door pickup services are planned to begin June 8th, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Customers will be able to pick up their items by scheduling an appointment through the library website or by calling their local library branch. Telephone reference will also be available. For updates, additional information, eBooks and more, go to the library website at www.hcplonline.org.
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, please remember the men and women of the U.S. military whose ultimate sacrifice has kept us strong and free.

This is County Executive Barry Glassman. You may know that Gov. Hogan has lifted his Stay-at-Home order. If you have underlying health conditions, or you are over 65, you should remain home as much as possible.
Especially for our seniors, we’re bringing some activities online, including fitness classes and programs for mental wellness.
However, in consultation with our public health officer, I have directed Harford County to reopen to the extent permitted.
We are fortunate to have the lowest number of cases and deaths per capita among the large counties. Thank you for taking actions to slow the spread. This has helped us move into Stage One of the Maryland Roadmap to Recovery.
In Stage One, houses of worship, retail stores and some personal services can reopen with limited capacity and I believe more openings will follow in the next couple of weeks.
We all must continue social distancing and other safety precautions. Remember to wear facemasks indoors in public places, wash your hands frequently, and stay home if you are sick.
Lastly, small businesses and farms impacted by COVID-19 may qualify for our new grant funding program.
