Harford County residents are invited to come together for a special community celebration on September 14th, hosted by Tar Heel Construction Group, a local business.

The event, which marks the company’s 10th anniversary, will take place from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Independent Brewing Company, located at 418 N Main Street. The public will be treated to food, music, and the chance to witness an extraordinary giveaway—a brand-new roof for a deserving and in-need recipient.

“We are currently taking nominations from the community on people they believe are in need and deserving of a new roof,” said Joe Ayler, President of Tar Heel Construction Group. “We will announce the winner at the celebration.”

The roof is a way to give back. In fact, the whole event shares that purpose.

“This celebration is all about the community, giving everyone a chance to connect, enjoy great food from food trucks like Crossroads Bistro and Top Nach, and dance to the tunes provided by Baltimore Sound Entertainment,” Ayler said.

The event is a way to give back to the Harford community, he said. And it’s not just for customers; it’s for everyone who calls Harford County home—and their guests.

“We’ve built our business on caring for our customers like they’re our neighbors—because they are,” he added.

Tar Heel Construction Group’s commitment to the community goes beyond the event. Over the years, they have been involved in numerous local projects, initiatives, and events, always looking for ways to support and uplift Harford County residents.

For example, they previously held a ‘12 Days of Christmas’ giveaway. Each day, they donated a $100 gift card to support local businesses.

They want to continue their spirit of community with their September celebration.

“We want this event to spread joy, bring people together, and create a space where everyone feels welcome,” Ayler said. “It’s about building connections, sharing stories, and celebrating what makes Harford County special—its people.”
