In this episode, Rich has a conversation with Patty Gregory.

Patty has been an active participant and supporter of Project Linus for an extended period and has served as the Chapter Coordinator for the greater Kansas City area since April 2000 and is now the President/Chief Executive Officer. She brings valuable skills from previous employment experiences in managerial and customer service positions, along with many years of leadership service in community organizations. In recognition of her dedication and achievements, Patty received the Victor Spies Foundation Volunteer Manager of the Year award in 2003, as well as a Community Service award from Children’s Mercy Hospital in 2010. Prior to accepting her current role, she established and ran her own thriving small business in the Kansas City area. Patty’s husband, John, is a dedicated supporter of her work in this new capacity. She is a proud mother to Lindsey and Joseph and grandmother to Brayden, Jaxon, and Aubrie.

Project Linus is a non-profit organization that provides handmade blankets to children in need. The organization was founded in 1995 by Karen Loucks, who was inspired by the Peanuts character Linus and his security blanket. Since then, Project Linus has distributed millions of blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or in need of comfort.

Volunteers across the United States make and donate the blankets to local Project Linus chapters, which then distribute them to hospitals, shelters, and other facilities where children are in need. These blankets provide warmth, comfort, and a sense of security to children who may be going through difficult times.

Project Linus has become a community effort with volunteers of all ages, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities. The organization not only provides blankets to children in need but also offers a meaningful way for volunteers to make a difference in their communities.

If you’re interested in supporting Project Linus, you can get involved by making blankets, donating materials, or supporting the organization in other ways. Visit their website to find a local chapter near you and learn how you can help bring comfort and warmth to children in need.
