The Harford County Department of Housing & Community Development will
host a free housing fair for potential homebuyers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 at the Harford
Community College Student Center, 410 Thomas Run Road in Bel Air.
Attendees will learn the essentials of homebuying, including:
 Understanding affordability, borrowing, and credit;
 Getting pre-approved for a mortgage;
 How to select a realtor;
 The purchasing process, including home inspections and title reviews; and
 Responsibilities once you become a homeowner.
“I encourage those at any stage of the homebuying process to attend our workshop on Saturday, March 18. The
Department of Housing & Community Development and partners will provide many helpful resources to
participants,” County Executive Bob Cassilly said.
Presenters include industry professionals in real estate, lending, home inspections, and title companies, and
Harford County HUD-certified counselors. All will be available to answer questions after the presentation.
Attendance at the Housing Fair meets the certificate requirements for individuals in Harford County’s Housing
Counseling Program, but the Fair is open to anyone looking to purchase a home in Maryland. This includes first-
time homebuyers, those who have not yet started the process, and anyone purchasing a second home who is
looking for a refresher.
Attendees must pre-register at bit.ly/HC-FTHB. Future first-time homebuyer workshop dates and locations
vary and are also posted on this webpage.
Anyone with questions may contact Keith Kimmel, Department of Housing & Community Development, at 410-
