Harford County Executive Cassilly Provides Update on FY24 Budget

0

On Monday, Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly provided an update on the upcoming fiscal year 2024 Harford County budget:

“Although Harford County’s economy is relatively strong, we must spend prudently in light of the present economic uncertainty, inflation, high interest rates, and the loss of previous Federal stimulus dollars. Harford County’s anticipated expenditures are greater than our anticipated revenues, meaning that we have a structural deficit. My administration and I are crafting a budget that carefully stewards hard-earned tax dollars to support essential services without tax increases,” County Executive Cassilly said. “With costs rising on everything from eggs at the grocery store to new tires for a family car, it is my responsibility to ensure the County’s spending decisions are in line with the financial challenges our residents and small businesses face daily.”

County Executive Cassilly reminds residents to provide in-person input on the budget at two upcoming townhalls:

  • Thursday, January 26 at 6 p.m. at the Edgewood Activity Center at 1980 Brookside Drive in Edgewood
  • Monday, January 30th at 6 p.m. at the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company at 3825 Federal Hill Road in Jarrettsville
