Harford County’s 250th Anniversary

In this episode, Rich has a conversation with Matthew Scales and Jackie Seneschal.
Matthew is the Executive Director of Visit Harford and Jackie is the Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for Harford 250.
In the early 1770s, citizens and businesspeople from the middle and upper Chesapeake Bay were dissatisfied with the length of time it took to go to Baltimore Town to serve on juries and conduct other business. Soon afterwards, lawmakers submitted a petition in Annapolis to create a new county named Harford County.
In the subsequent 250 years, Harford County has developed into a unique region with flourishing little towns, working farms, thriving arts communities, a world-renowned army post for research and development, top-tier health care services, bustling sports facilities, and charming outdoor leisure areas.
Beginning in March 2023 and running through March 2024, Harford’s Sestercentennial will be observed.
