Options under consideration for Harford County’s bicycle and pedestrian connection between Harford Community College and the Town of Bel Air.

Harford County is seeking public input on plans for a bicycle and pedestrian connection between Harford Community College and the Town of Bel Air.

The Harford County Department of Planning & Zoning, under the administration of County Executive Barry Glassman, will hold a meeting for citizens to drop in anytime from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. The meeting will be in the first-floor conference room at the county government building, 220 S. Main Street in Bel Air.

Attendees will learn about the project and provide feedback on the route the connector will take. Main routes under consideration are Moores Mill Road, East Churchville Road, and Prospect Mill Road, but suggestions are welcome.

Potential types of pathways will also be discussed, such as pathways separated from the road, and shared or separated bike lanes. A mix of these options will likely be used depending on safety and rights-of-way.

Anyone who cannot attend the public meeting can take the online survey available at:

The Harford Community College to Bel Air connector is the subject of a study commissioned by Harford County being conducted by Whitman, Requardt and Associates with grant funding from the Kim Lamphier Bikeways Network Program of the Maryland Department of Transportation.

An additional public input meeting will be scheduled once plans are further developed.
