The Harford County Health Department is excited to announce that the 1 N. Main Family Health Center in Bel Air will begin taking appointments for pediatric dental services starting Monday, May 23, 2022.
The new dental clinic, which will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30
p.m., strives to improve the oral health of children ages 1-20 enrolled in the Maryland Children’s Health
Program (MCHP). The services that are offered include X-rays, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatment,
home oral health care instructions, nutrition education, restorations (fillings), extractions, crowns, root
canal treatment, space maintainers for missing primary baby teeth and referrals for specialty care when
deemed necessary. Dr. Carolina Rojas, fluent in English, Spanish and German, has joined the health
department this month and will be the main dentist at the Center located at 1 N. Main Street in Bel Air.
She received her dental degree from the University of Talca in Chile and following that completed two
pediatric post dental graduate programs at Universidad del Desarrollo and University of Connecticut.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Carolina Rojas join our team to offer these much-needed dental
services to our community,” says Acting Health Officer Marcy Austin. “Dental care provided early in a
child’s life can establish good oral health habits and prevent tooth decay and other oral health problems
throughout their lives.”
The Center was designed to serve the health care needs of families in our community, with a strong
focus on our youth and adolescents. The health department also offers the same dental services at their
Edgewood location at 2204 Hanson Road.
