About
The Maryland Gold Star Mothers Chapter was founded in the 1940s to assist families of those who served in the military during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Maryland and Delaware then joined forces to assist those in mourning. Membership dwindled over time, and the Chapter went dormant. With the United States’ involvement in the Global War on Terror, as well as the dangers of regular military life, the number of Gold Star Mothers in our states has increased.
