Bel Air MD, Town Hall/Police Department groundbreaking took place in front of Town Hall at 39 N. Hickory Avenue on December 16, 2021.  The planned 11,000 square foot renovation and expansion is anticipated to last 18 months.  The building was built in 1964 and has undergone two minor renovations; none that expanded the buildings footprint.

There will be disruption to parking and access to the existing building, although still accessible to the public.  Use of the parking garage and Hickory Avenue will be best for visitors.

“This is a long-time coming, but we are so grateful for the support of our community that have helped us reach this day, this facility and the improvement that it will bring will help us to better serve the Town of Bel Air” Chief of Police Charles Moore stated during Thursdays ground-breaking.

Mayor Kevin Bianca thanked the town staff in his remarks adding “This building has served our town well for many years, but today we look to the future, and how we can continue to serve our citizens for decades to come.”
