10. Create a morning routine that sets the tone for the day

The alarm goes off and you either hit the snooze button or you drag yourself out of bed. You make yourself some coffee to help clear the cobwebs in your head. You get ready to go about the day. Sound about right?

Creating a morning routine helps us to control our day better than having the day drag us along. It gives us time and space to visualize how the day will go, what we want to accomplish and enjoy some peace and quiet before the day’s chaos begins. It may mean waking up 15 minutes earlier. Before you groan, those extra 15 minutes could make all the difference in how you tackle the day, no matter what’s thrown your way.

9.  Read a personal development book tackling an area you feel weak in

Often times, I’m asked for book recommendations. I love a good book. Better yet, I love a good personal development book. It’s easy to point out faults in others and focus on them. Hold a mirror to yourself and see what may need some work. Self-awareness is a skill, in my opinion. There are things you can improve on. Find a book that will help you grow to be better. Isn’t that what life’s all about? Being the best versions of ourselves?

8. Write a list of goals and 3 actionable items for each goal that you can do in the immediate future

I love a good old fashioned brain dump. Write down everything that flows out. From there, circle your top 5 goals you want to achieve in the next 12 months. For each goal, write down 3 actionable items you can take RIGHT NOW that will move you closer to your goals.

7. Think positively by busting through your limiting beliefs

We all have them. They may disguise themselves as fears, doubts, worries, concerns, blocks. Limiting beliefs are lies we tell ourselves and worse yet, believe to be true. They are the #1 reason we don’t take action towards goals. Pinpoint them and annihilate them.

6. Say affirmations aloud each day

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will ever hurt me. I disagree. Words are extremely powerful. The little child in you carries hurts and pains that affect the adult you. Rewrite the narrative. Choose the words to your story. Tell yourself what you want to be. And do it every single day!

5. Listen to a motivational podcast

Our thoughts are loud. A great way to fill your mind with positive, motivational words is to listen to them. Podcasts are full of great tips, how-to’s and wonderful people offering their expertise to the world.

4. Surround yourself with those who are already where you want to be

Want to eat healthy? Find someone who eats healthy. Want to workout? Find someone who workouts routinely. Hang around those who do what you want to do. All together now…birds of a feather, flock together.

3. Find your iron-clad why that will keep you showing up no matter what happens in your day/life

You won’t feel motivated every day. Your best goals won’t keep you showing up. Without the driving force of a strong, iron-clad why, you’re left on the couch with a cute workout outfit, a killer fitness routine, clean meal plan waiting for you to take action.

2. Invest in your mindset – if you are struggling with getting motivated, invest in a motivational course or hire a mindset coach

Parents hire coaches for their children to learn from. Whether for sports or academia, coaches know much more than parents do. The same goes for motivation. There are great mindset coaches that will teach you how to remove mental blocks, so you move forward and see results.

1. Schedule your healthy habits by customizing alarms in your cell phone

Grab your phone right now, set an alarm and customize it with reminders to prepare a healthy meal, do a workout, or even for you to read a positive affirmation.
