Santa Is Coming to J-Towne

The Joppatowne Lions Club has held an Annual Holiday Bazaar and Breakfast with Santa for decades and this is the first year they can’t due to COVID-19. The President of the Club, Rich Bennett, was upset because he knew that the kids needed to see Santa Claus. Rich talked to his neighbor, Teresa Stepp, and that’s all it took.

Teresa had Santa Claus at her shop, Art to Soul Galleria, last year and contacted him and some other people and got the ball rolling. She came up with the wonderful idea of building a little workshop on the corner of her yard for Santa. The workshop is on the corner of Kershaw Court and Kershaw Road. With the help from her husband John and several friends, she was able to create a nice little Christmas Wonderland for Santa to sit at on selected dates for people to come by and see the Jolly Man.

The spirit of Christmas won’t be canceled this year due to COVID!
He sees you when you drive by,
He knows when you’re in route,
He knows of Covid this year,
So come by for goodness sake!

We’ve created a community Christmas corner on Kershaw Court to host Kris Kringle in person on 3 separate occasions because COVID won’t kill Christmas for all of the good little boys and girls this year.

Kris Kringle is all about the kiddies, so plan to drive-by and stay in the car, walk by and wave or bring a mask and snap some cell photos with the main holiday man himself… any way you choose it’s free for all ages and open to the community. Come see Santa in person seated on the corner of Kershaw Court and Kershaw Road in Joppatowne. Santa will be seated in a decorated holiday house spreading joy to the world for all to see!

We’ll have free hot chocolate – courtesy of Ashber Home Improvement and candy canes on our opening evening of December 13th from 4 pm – 7 pm. If you’re concerned about Covid you don’t leave the comfort of your own car. We built it… so we hope you come! The kids deserve the holiday spirit more than ever this year. Two more dates occurring on Saturday, December 19th Sunday, December 20th.

We will be exercising all government mandated safety protocols for COVID to include social distancing. A few of Santa’s helpers will be standing by to accept donations of canned goods and other non-perishables for the Joppatowne Lion’s Club in order to give back to the community and to those in need for the holidays.

Don’t miss Kris as we have Nick at Night … jolly old St Nick that is ready to say hello to all of the good little boys and girls! It’s a community Christmas event, being held outdoors. We just couldn’t image Christmas without the Claus, so if you can’t get out of Joppatowne to see him… we are bringing him to YOU!
