Increasing self-esteem helps us feel good about ourselves. When we feel good about ourselves, we are happier and confident. Another benefit to increasing our self-esteem is that as we gain a stronger sense of self, this contributes to our general well-being. Given these points, I’ll be sharing one method to increasing your self-esteem.

Learn a new skill!

Yup! Simply learning something new is exciting! Without a doubt, it engages your mind and body. Additionally, it gives an opportunity to gain new experiences. It also fights boredom, which can happen easily during this pandemic. As a result of all this, your brain is being trained to handle challenges.

As you can see, there are so many great benefits to learning a new skill. So now, where do you start? Here’s how to learn in a new skill in three easy steps.

First, ask yourself if there’s anything you’ve always wanted to learn? Perhaps it’s a new language, how to knit, or photography. Don’t focus on what will result from this new skill – if there’s something you want to learn, go for it! Your happiness doesn’t need overthinking.

Second, dive in with books, classes, find a mentor or get on Google. Join Facebook interest groups, volunteer, or reach out to someone on social media who is great at doing what you’re trying to learn. You’ll make new friends in the process too! Start learning your new skill as soon as you’d like.

Third, dedicate time each week towards your new skill and see your excitement grow as you learn more and more!

I’d like to leave you with these final words. Learning a new skill doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive or time-consuming. Start small or big. It’s up to you! Have fun and enjoy the process.

Happy learning!
