To encourage social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic, Harford County government is temporarily waiving credit card convenience fees for online payments made through the county website for property taxes, assessments, permits and licenses. The change is effective September 2 through December 31, 2020.
The convenience fees are charged by credit card companies and range from 2.25 to 2.75%. Harford County will absorb these fees through its allocation of federal CARES Act funding, which must be used by the end of the year.
To qualify for the fee waiver, online payments for taxes and assessments must be made through the county website at http://hcgweb01.harfordcountymd.gov/billpay/ or by calling 1-844-836-9732.
Qualifying payments for permits and licenses must be made through Harford County’s ePermit Center, https://epermitcenter.harfordcountymd.gov/energov_prod/selfservice#/home.
