Health Department Takes Precaution for COVID-19 and Limits Services

Harford County Health Officer, Dr. Russell Moy issued the following statement on the COVID-19 virus in Harford County:

“The Coronavirus COVID-19 is a new public health crisis that has been responsible for many illnesses and deaths worldwide. The virus is transmitted through airborne droplets when people cough or sneeze. Symptoms are fever, coughing, and shortness of breath. Those at highest risk are people age 60 and over, with chronic medical conditions, as well as people with compromised immune systems. There is no specific medicine or vaccine currently available for COVID-19.”

The health department is asking that the public make an appointment with the program that they’re seeking services from prior to entering the health department.

  • Behavioral Health: 410-877-2341 (Please proceed to the third floor for screening)
  • Environmental Health: 410-877-2300
  • Health Insurance (MCHP): 410-877-1031  Vital Records (Birth and Death Certificates): 410-838-1500
  • All Edgewood services (HIV, STI testing, Family Planning & Health Services): 410-612-1779
