Winner to be awarded $1,000 for illustration of how solar energy can change the world
American Design and Build (ADB) and American Sentry Solar (ASS), Maryland’s most trusted and referred exterior home remodeling and residential solar company, today announced its annual 2020 Kid’s Earth Day Solar Art Scholarship is now open for entries. The friendly competition encourages students in grades K-8 to use their creativity to create their own interpretation of how the use of solar energy can change the world.
The contest will honor the grand prize winner with a $1,000 scholarship and certificate of achievement.
“We’re excited to announce this scholarship opportunity, which reflects the importance of educating our children and community about the significance of using clean, sustainable energy and the tremendous impact it has on our environment,” said Kevin Carmen, chief marketing officer at ADB and ASS. “We encourage students to submit their most creative ideas and look forward to seeing what they come up with.”
The Kid’s Earth Day Solar Art Scholarship is part of ADB and ASS’s ongoing commitment to educate homeowners about the benefits of solar and its environmental impact as a clean source of energy. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges and the winning project will be determined based on its originality and creativity.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this scholarship for young students,” said Amber Shrodes, director of Harford County Department of Community Services. “This unique opportunity challenges participants to be thoughtful when it comes to our environment and to leverage their creative ability to share a very important message with peers and their community.”
