Harford Transit LINK will hold a public hearing on Harford County, Maryland’s FY 2021 application to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for state and federal funds to finance the FY 2021 transit service in Harford County. At the hearing, information will be presented and available for review on Harford Transit LINK’s FY 2021 Annual Transportation Plan and application to the MTA/FTA for state and federal funds to finance operational and capital needs.
Requests will be for operating assistance through:
- Section 5307 to operate the Fixed Routes and ADA Demand Response services;
- SSTAP (Statewide Special Transportation Assistance Program) to provide trips for the elderly and those with disabilities;
- Capital grants for preventive maintenance, replacement vehicles, communications equipment, and other equipment and services; and
- Other formula and discretionary transit grant programs, which may become available during the program year.
Additionally, information will be presented and available for review on Harford Commute Smart’s FY 2021 Rideshare grant application.
The hearings will be held on the following date/times:
- Monday, February 10, 2020, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the McFaul Activity Center, 525 W. MacPhail Road in Bel Air, which is directly served by Harford Transit LINK’s Bus Route 6 with connections to Routes 1 and 2 through Harford Mall. Routes 1 and 2 connect with all other routes at Aberdeen Train Station and additional connection points.
- Monday, February 10, 2020, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Edgewood Activity Center, 1000 Gateway Drive in Edgewood, which is directly served by Harford Transit LINK’s Bus Route 3 with connections to the Route 2 at Walgreen’s in Edgewood and Routes 1, 2, and 5 at the Aberdeen Train Station and additional connection points.
