The second annual event offers games, prizes, refreshments and a chance to take home designer handbags for $25; all proceeds will help expand and enhance programs that assist low-income families in Harford County.

A popular fundraiser introduced last summer is coming back to Bel Air on August 16 when the SUCCESS Project once again hosts Designer Bag Bingo at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. A near sell-out crowd marked the inaugural event in 2018, and organizers are hoping to reach the venue capacity this year.  Admission price is $25 in advance or $30 at the door, which gives participants a booklet of 20 bingo game cards plus a door prize ticket and a chance to win a brand-new designer bag each round. Refreshments will be available for sale. All proceeds will be used to enhance and expand the free services and events offered by SUCCESS Project, such as classes and workshops; the community food pantry; a shuttle offering local transport; and more. Designer Bag Bingo will be held in the gym of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1200 E. Churchville Road in Bel Air.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m., bingo starts at 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online individually or as tables of eight for $200. For more information contact Carla Ciallella at carla@hdgha.org.

Participants can increase their odds of winning by purchasing additional game cards, a “second chance” pack of 20 more cards, and special round cards. 50/50 raffle tickets and Chinese auction tickets for other prizes will also be sold at the door. Players that bring a household paper, personal hygiene or school supply item to stock The SUCCESS Project pantry will receive a bonus raffle ticket.

Nicki Biggs is the Executive Director of The SUCCESS Project and says, “We are so excited to bring Designer Bag Bingo back to Bel Air! There was a phenomenal turnout last year and it brought much-needed support to our program.  Many of our guests commented on what a fun and affordable ladies’ night out the event was, so we hope to replicate that success and fill every seat in the house this year to assist even more families in need.”
