Harford County Executive Barry Glassman Installed as Second Vice President on County Association’s Board of Directors

Harford County Executive Barry Glassman has been installed as Second Vice President of the Maryland Association of Counties. He was installed during the Inaugural Banquet, Wednesday, December 6, at the 2017 Winter Conference in Cambridge, Maryland.

 

County Executive Glassman has served on the county association’s Board of Directors since January of 2015. The 2018 MACo Board was installed by Governor Larry Hogan during the Inaugural Banquet.

 

“I look forward to continuing my leadership role in MACo as we support and promote all local governments throughout the state before the governor and the Maryland General Assembly,” Harford County Executive Barry Glassman said.

 

The MACo Board of Directors comprises 16 county elected officials. These county leaders are selected by the MACo membership to serve the interests of the Association, oversee its management and strategic direction, and maintain and develop relationships with other parties with whom MACo and counties regularly interact. The Board works collaboratively with the MACo Legislative Committee, which sets policy positions for the Association and directs its legislative advocacy priorities.

 

The 2018 Board of Officers include Anne Arundel County Council Member Jerry Walker as President, Kent County Commission President William Pickrum as First Vice President, Harford County Executive Barry Glassman as Second Vice President, Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner as Secretary, Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman as Treasurer, and Washington County Commissioner John Barr as Past President.

 

About the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo): MACo is a non-profit and non-partisan organization that serves Maryland county governments by articulating their needs and ideas to the Maryland General Assembly. The Association’s membership is composed of county elected officials and representatives from Maryland’s 23 counties and Baltimore City. MACo’s members determine Association policy and positions on executive and legislative proposals through an elected Board of Directors and Legislative Committee.
