Dunlop Protective Footwear Wins Maryland Bright Lights Award

Maryland comptroller Peter Franchot presented the 2017 Bright Lights Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Harford County to Mary Steinebrunner, general manager of Dunlop Protective Footwear. The “Bright Lights Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship” will recognize and celebrate innovation in the private and nonprofit sectors that strengthen Maryland’s economy, generate jobs and tax revenue and develop new ideas that more effectively deliver services and products within the marketplace.

Dunlop Protective Footwear produces more than one million boots at its Havre de Grace facility every year for the food processing, Oil and Gas, Industry and Agriculture market sectors. Dunlop employs 105 people and recently expanded its operations in Harford County.

 

Dunlop Protective Footwear became the first high pressure polyurethane footwear producer in the USA, by manufacturing the Purofort® FoodPro boot with our state-of-the-art PU8 production system.  General Manager Mary Steinebrunner “The PU8 project is another investment in American manufacturing. Mary has a strong background in Marketing and Business Development with a track record of solid leadership and successful business planning.

 

Mary became the General Manager for the Dunlop Protective Footwear – USA division when the company was acquired in May 2016.  She has been part of the organization since April 2000, where she began as a Marketing Assistant and grew alongside her team into the current role as General Manager, while navigating three ownership changes in the past five years.

 

She is committed to building strong teams and enhancing independent leadership within company and community.  In addition to the pledge to her Dunlop family, Mary has worked with local Women’s initiatives to support domestic abuse victims, helping to rebuild their confidence, and their lives.

 

Mary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore and Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University.

 

Mary has a strong belief in workplace diversity and supports training, education, and empowerment initiatives as key criteria to greater personal and business achievement.
