Preschoolers from The Goddard School all throughout the Baltimore area, including Harford County, spent the past few weeks collecting more than 3,200 “Blessings Bags” filled with essential, non-perishable items for The Baltimore Station, an innovative therapeutic residential treatment program supporting veterans and others who are transitioning through the cycle of poverty, addiction, and homelessness to self-sufficiency. In Harford County, The Goddard School locations in Forest Hill and Bel Air contributed 420 of these bags, which included water bottles, apple sauce, soup, cereal, and more.
As part of the collection initiative, each school engaged in educational themes focused on teaching children our National Anthem, the sacrifice veterans make for our nation, and veterans even came to the schools to read to the children. Many of the children also created patriotic themed artwork to go in the bags for the The Baltimore Station residents.
The Goddard School dropped off their “Blessings Bags” to The Baltimore Station on Thursday, February 9th at 11 a.m., located at 140 W. West Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.
