Calling young artists: Is there a champion in your life? Students in grades K-12 are invited to show how their champion makes them feel, and enter to win prizes in a new art contest sponsored by the Harford County Department of Community Services and Local Management Board. The contest is open to all public, private and home-schooled children. The submission deadline is Friday, May 5, 2017.

Young artists should create an original drawing or painting that depicts how the champion in their life makes them feel – happy, loved, joyful, etc. Artwork must be 10” wide by 8” high (horizontal) and suitable for framing.  Prizes will include a $50 gift card for first place and a $25 gift card for two runners-up. Winning artwork may also be reproduced and used as awards to be given out at Harford County’s Champions for Children and Youth recognition event. This annual event celebrates professionals, volunteers, and fellow youth who go above and beyond to enhance the lives of children and youth in our community.

All artwork submissions must include a completed application form and must be hand delivered no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5 to Silvana Bowker, Harford County Department of Community Services, 125 N. Main Street in Bel Air.
