Alicia Hamilton Named Program Coordinator for The SUCCESS Project

The first full-time employee for the non-profit organization will help expand the scope of programs and services offered to the community.          

Alicia Hamilton is the first full-time employee for The SUCCESS Project. She will serve as program coordinator for the non-profit.

The SUCCESS Project, the 501(c)3 affiliate of the Havre de Grace Housing Authority (HDGHA), is pleased to announce that Alicia Hamilton has been hired as the full-time program coordinator of the non-profit effective in January of this year. The new position was made possible by a grant from The Dresher Foundation which was received in December of 2016.

In her role as program coordinator, Hamilton will organize, oversee and coordinate fundraising, budgeting, and public outreach for The SUCCESS Project. She will also develop, implement and publicize programs that align with the organization’s mission and support its goal to help families in Harford County achieve financial independence and thrive as members of the community.

Hamilton is the CEO and founder of Found in Faith Ministries, a start-up nonprofit that provides furniture resources to people transitioning from homelessness. Previously, Hamilton was a residential counselor with Arrow Child and Family Ministries and also served on the Harvest House Fundraising Committee. A native of Harford County, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services from Towson University and is a certified Getting Ahead in a Just Getting by World Facilitator.

Of her new role with The SUCCESS Project, Hamilton says, “I am very pleased to join The SUCCESS Project and eager to build a life-coaching program that helps participants achieve their self-sufficiency goals and improve their quality of life.  I look forward to enhancing our programming and expanding our services county-wide.”

The SUCCESS Project Executive Director Nicki Biggs says, “Alicia’s dedication to our mission, combined with her background, will enable us to help even more families and individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency.  She will be a very positive addition to our team and to the community at large.”

The “SUCCESS” in The SUCCESS Project stands for “Supporting the Upward Climb to Continued Economic Self-Sufficiency.”  The mission of the non-profit is to provide at-risk youth and low-income adults with services that teach life skills and encourage personal economic independence. The program is free and provides case management and referral services in the following areas: education, job training, employment opportunities, health care, financial education, credit counseling, home ownership, career advancement, transportation, life skills and entrepreneurship.
