Valley of the Haunted Dares to Scare Harford

Valley of the Haunted has returned to Harford County, and it will feature a newly extended haunted trail through the woods crawling with ghosts, zombies, and more. The haunted attraction takes place at Camp Hidden Valley, a 180 acre campground in White Hall, MD operated by Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County.  Following the success of their first run in 2015, the Clubs received a 2nd tourism grant from the Harford County Office of Economic Development to once again put on the premier attraction, which is expected to draw thousands to the campground over the next several weeks.  The trail is being marketed from Pennsylvania all the way down to Washington DC, and promises to scare and delight even the most experienced haunt seekers.

For those that dare to go, the trail will be open Friday & Saturday nights in October starting this Friday, the 14th. Valley of the Haunted offers free onsite parking, haunted hay rides, music, and plenty to eat & drink.  The best deal on tickets can be found at www.valleyofthehaunted.com. When purchased in advance, tickets are just $15, and for the best rate, bring a small group of friends.  For every 5 tickets purchased, the 6th is free.

While Valley of the Haunted is not recommended for children under 10, younger children are encouraged to venture up to Camp Hidden Valley for Little Haunts Sundays from 2-6 pm, offering a fun and spook-free time, including trick-or-treating on the trail, games, crafts, pumpkin painting, costume contests, moon bounces, a hay maze, and more.  At just $5 a person, Little Haunts is expected to be one of Harford’s most popular fall attractions for families in the area.

All proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County.  Event Sponsors include Harford County Office of Economic Development, Atlantic Tractor, eMoxie, Survice Engineering, Suited Four, The Aegis, Kefauver Lumber Company, Jarrettsville Federal Savings & Loan, APGFCU Credit Union, Ecotone, & Swagdog.  Media Sponsors include Coffee News, WXCY, SmashHits FM, and Harford’s Heart.

Valley of the Haunted relies heavily on community volunteers to bring the attraction to life, offering volunteer options for both individuals and groups. Student service hours are available for teens who want to be behind the screams.  Anyone interested in volunteering for Valley of the Haunted or Little Haunts Sundays can find out more at www.valleyofthehaunted.com.
