Harford County Public Library, Harford County Bar Foundation offer
free brief legal advice clinics at county libraries
Harford County Public Library and the Harford County Bar Foundation are teaming up to pilot a program, Lawyer in the Library, that offers a free brief legal advice clinic once a month.
Brief advice clinics enable residents to discuss legal matters with an attorney at the library on a variety of topics including abuse, divorce, custody, homelessness, bankruptcy, poverty, employment, individual rights, consumer matters, educational issues and assistance in filling out forms.
Upcoming brief advice clinics will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, October 14, at the Edgewood Library; Friday, November 18, at the Whiteford Library; Friday, December 9, at the Abingdon Library; and Friday, January 13, at the Havre de Grace Library.
To participate, an appointment must be made in advance by calling the Harford County Bar Foundation at 410-836-0123.
Depending upon the success of this pilot program, additional dates and locations will be announced in the future.

The Harford County Bar Foundation was established in 1991 to increase pro bono services and to provide educational resources to low-income individuals in need of legal assistance in family law, housing, bankruptcy, consumer, foreclosure, and estates and trust.
