Harford County Tradition Continues with the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance’s 11th Annual CCA Festival of Trees

The Chesapeake Cancer Alliance (CCA) will proudly present the 11th Annual Festival of Trees to be held Saturday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Bel Air Armory at 37 N. Main Street.  CCA’s fundraising efforts during the Festival of Trees benefit the Cancer LifeNet Program at the Patricia D. and Scot M. Kaufman Cancer Center at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH).

This Harford County tradition begins on Friday evening, November 25th from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM with the Preview Party.  Presented by MaGerk’s of Bel Air, this event offers the public the opportunity to be the first to see, bid and buy from all the decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses. With a $30 ticket, a guest is entitled to three day admission to the Festival of Trees, may partake of the delicious food prepared by MaGerk’s with a complimentary adult beverage, and a delicious dessert donated by Wegman’s. Easy listening entertainment will be provided by the talented John Sobus. Tickets are available at Preston’s of Bel Air, Jonathan’s Weddings and Flowers of Forest Hill or by calling Sandy at 410-838-3987.

“It is truly amazing to see our community come together—volunteers and donors, alike—transforming the Bel Air Armory into a winter wonderland in support of cancer care, close to home,” says Sandy Guzewich, president of the CCA.

The weekend event features uniquely decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses created by local organizations, businesses and individuals and sold by silent auction all weekend.  CCA Festival of Trees also includes gift boutiques, children’s crafts and entertainment, a café and bake table, and much more.  This year’s new addition is a large outdoor, heated and tented Children’s Area filled with make and take crafts, specialty vendors, storytellers and surprises.   Cost of admission is $12; children 12 and under are free. A $2.00 coupon is available at uchfoundation.org.  The CCA Festival of Trees will be open to patrons on Saturday Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 29, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Main Street Tower Restaurant will also be hosting “Breakfast with Santa,” Saturday, Nov. 26th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Costs are $11.00 for each adult, $8.00 for each child under 12 while children 3 and younger are free (gratuity and tax are an additional fee).  Reservations may be made with the Main Street Tower at 410-838-8007.

The CCA is a volunteer group, dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families and friends in our community through all stages of illness by expanding prevention, education, treatment, research and support programs at UM UCH through the Cancer LifeNet Program.
