Harford County Public Library Appoints Kristi Halford Foundation Director

Harford County Public Library has appointed Kristi S. Halford foundation director. She started her new position September 6.

 

As foundation director, Halford develops and implements Harford County Public Library Foundation’s fundraising activities, including direct mail, capital campaigns, grants and special events to support the library’s programs and initiatives.

 

Halford has more than 15 years of experience in communications, marketing and development. Prior to joining Harford County Public Library, she served as director of marketing and communications for the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore. She has also served as senior account executive for Nevins & Associates; director of marketing for Downtown Partnership of Baltimore; and director of public relations and marketing for the Maryland Historical Society.

 

She has extensive experience in developing collaborative partnerships, cultivating donors, supporting strategic planning, creating effective marketing and communications campaigns, and fundraising through sponsorships, grants and individual and major gifts.

 

“We are excited to have Kristi join us at Harford County Public Library. Her background in economic development and vast experience in building relationships with corporate and individual donors will help us grow our foundation,” said Mary Hastler, CEO of Harford County Public Library.

 

Halford holds a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from Notre Dame of Maryland University, where she serves as vice president of the alumnae executive board and chairs its Networking and Leadership Committee.

 

In addition, Halford is an active community volunteer who has served on various committees for United Way of Central Maryland, Sharp Dressed Man, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Chesapeake and the Woman’s Industrial Exchange.

 

She is a 2016 graduate of the Towson University Leadership Program for Women and was named to The Daily Record’s Leading Women in 2011.

 

Harford County Public Library operates 11 branches located throughout Harford County.
