Is your business prepared to survive a disaster? Many companies have struggled or failed to reopen following a major disruption to their operations, resulting in the loss of income and jobs.  Developing a business continuity plan can help your company remain open, or reopen more quickly, following all types of emergencies such as fire,  floods,  power outages, severe storms, terrorism and cybersecurity attacks. To help protect the bottom line for Harford County businesses, the Harford County Office of Economic Development and the Department of Emergency Services will offer a free Business Continuity Seminar on Friday, September 30, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Office of Economic Development, 2021-D Pulaski Highway in Havre de Grace. Business owners and operators, employees overseeing essential functions, and those responsible for disaster recovery planning are encouraged to register now as space is limited. There is no cost to attend; the public is also welcome to register and attend.

Seminar topics will include:

  • Recognizing threats to business continuity
  • Protecting vital records and data
  • Maintaining access to supply lines
  • Insurance considerations
  • Minimizing downtime
  • How continuity planning has helped others stay in business
  • Making a plan to keep your business open and online
