The 7th Annual Sunshine’s Angels 5K race to benefit children suffering grief and trauma will be held Sunday, April 24th, 2016, in Pylesville, Maryland.

Rain or shine, walkers and runners leave from previously known as Amoroso’s Restaurant now known as Eats and Sweets, next to North Harford High School, at 8 a.m. The event also features a one-mile family fun walk.  Early Bird registration is $30 until March15th.

Participants can register on line at: active.com or www.sunshinesangels.com. It is also possible to register the day of on-site until 7:45 am for $40.

Awards will be presented to the three top finishers and to first, second and third place runners in each of six age brackets: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59 and 60 and above.

Sunshine’s Angels is a nonprofit fund raising organization created by Vicki Bull after her own daughter, a mother of three children under the age of 5, was killed in an auto accident.

Proceeds from past races have gone to three area organizations working with children suffering grief or trauma, such as the loss of a parent or other family member.  They are:

  • Olivia’s House, a grief and loss center for children, in York,
  • PEACE (Partnering with Equine to Assist in Counseling Experience) which operates at several horse farms in Southern Pennsylvania.
  • Roberta’s House, a Baltimore-based group that operates grief camps for inner city children.
