Registration Open for Harford’s Free Emergency Training “Prepare Because You Care”; Program Begins September 16

Registration is now open for the next four-week session of “Prepare Because You Care”, an emergency preparedness/disaster readiness training program developed for citizens by the Harford County Department of Emergency Services.  The upcoming program will begin on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.   Earlier offerings of this free program have been very well received and space is limited, so please register early.

 

Prepare Because You Care consists of four classes held on consecutive Wednesday evenings. All classes will be held from 7 – 9:00 p.m. at the Level Volunteer Fire Company located at 3633 Level Village Road in Havre de Grace.

 

The following topics will be covered:

 

  • September 16 – Introduction to the Department of Emergency Services, Disaster History of Harford County, How to Assemble a Disaster Supply Kit
  • September 23 – Fire Safety in the Home, Basic Fire Suppression
  • September 30 – Crime Prevention and Awareness (presented by Harford County Sheriff’s Office)
  • October 7 – Hands-Only CPR, Basic First Aid, Graduation
