(Aberdeen, MD) – The Boys and Girls Clubs of Harford County is hosting what’s being called “The Hardest 5k in Harford County”  as part of its 25th Anniversary year and ongoing fundraiser to support its programs for youth. The 2015 Camp Hidden Valley 5K is a challenging course that includes some pavement, but mostly trails, with many segments highly technical with significant uphill and downhill sections.

The technical difficulties of the trail run are offset by the beautiful scenic view along Deer Creek in White Hall. In addition to the 5k, participants can choose a 1 mile walk run followed by a fun-filled day Camp Hidden Valley with music, awards, and door prizes.

The low $25 registration fee ($30 after July 25) includes breakfast after the race, post-race refreshments, and a technical t-shirt.  Also included are laser engraved custom awards for the following winners:

  • First three M/F Overall
  • Top Masters M/F
  • First Three M/F in the following age groups: 12 and Under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Register online at www.active.com (Hidden Valley) and be sure to register before August 1st to be guaranteed a shirt. Contact race directors about discounted rates for high school teams or track clubs.

Race directors Scott Kothenbeutel 443-619-9701 or Susan Kemen 410-688-5677.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary all year long. For more information on how you can get involved, contact the Clubs at 410-272-0010.
