[Bel Air, MD] April 7, 2015 – Registration is still open for the third annual Harford Hills Bike Adventure on Saturday, April 25, 2015, and to sweeten the pot event organizers have announced that all registered riders will receive a complimentary barbeque lunch courtesy of event sponsor Famous Dave’s.

The event is a fundraiser for The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR), a non-profit organization that provides services to families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Registration is $45 and is accessible by visiting www.active.com and searching for Harford Hills Bike Adventure.

This year’s bike ride begins and ends in Bel Air at Towson University in Northeastern Maryland, located on the campus of Harford Community College. Participants can choose between an intermediate level 30-mile loop, or a more advanced 62-mile metric century loop. The courses were selected based on recommendations from area cycling groups and offer a safe, paved ride through the scenic hills of Harford County.

Water and restroom stations will be set up along the courses at 10 mile intervals and a sag wagon will provide on-course support until 2:00 p.m.  All riders are required to wear helmets and must complete their selected course by 2:00 p.m.  Lunch will be provided by Famous Dave’s barbeque for all registered riders beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Check-in for both courses opens at 7:30 a.m. and both rides will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m.  In addition to the ride, pre- and post-event activities include complimentary bike adjustments courtesy of The Bike Shop of Bel Air and live entertainment by Electric Molly. All participants will also receive an event shirt.

Julie Chmura, Director of Development at The Arc NCR, says the event tripled in attendance from the first year to its second. She adds, “The growing success of the Harford Hills Bike Adventure shows how truly supportive and enthusiastic our community is about the work of The Arc NCR. It is a fun event that aligns perfectly with our core values of respect, self-determination, inclusion, responsiveness and community building. We are excited to share our mission with even more people this year, while also raising money to support our programs.”
