Bel Air, Md. – October 6, 2014 – Harford County Bar Foundation and the Harford County Pro Bono Committee are hosting “And Justice for All: Opening the Courthouse Door” on Thursday, November 6, at 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Chesapeake House in Aberdeen.
The luncheon features presentations from local legal services agencies on the needs of the community to improve legal resources and increase program collaboration. Presentations will be made by agencies such as Community Mediation Program, Family Court Services, Harford County Bar Foundation, Legal Aid Bureau, Public Defender, Child Support Enforcement, Pro Se Assistance Desk and SARC.
In addition, the Harford County Bar Foundation will release the results of a survey sent to 100 human services providers in the county to find out more about the legal needs of populations they serve. The goal of the survey is to improve the quality of legal resources available in Harford County by gaining familiarity with services already offered in the county and to improve program collaboration. The survey was conducted in late summer and early fall.

The Harford County Bar Foundation was established in 1991 to increase pro bono services and to provide educational resources to low-income individuals in need of legal assistance in family law, housing, bankruptcy, consumer, foreclosure, and estates and trust.
The nonprofit provides placement of financially disadvantaged individuals and their families with qualified attorneys who provide pro bono legal services. It also places income-eligible individuals with attorneys who will represent them on a reduced-fee basis.
The foundation also serves as a community resource by directing the public to a broad range of local and state, private and public programs for services. It is also a source of education by promoting a better understanding of the legal system among members of the public and by promoting the continuing legal education of members of the Harford County Bar Association.
